Fifteen years ago, we introduced the USO handset to the market. What began as a robust, intuitively operated audio system has since become an integral part of our portfolio — and an essential feature in museums and exhibitions around the world.
The history of the USO is closely intertwined with our own development. In 2001, Martin Müller and Michael Zeyfang († 2022) founded molitor GmbH. Just a few years later, the first USO prototype was developed. In 2011, series production began in our own workshop — a decisive step from concept to a sustainable, durable solution manufactured in-house. Production was based in Berlin-Kreuzberg until 2025, and has since continued in Prenzlauer Berg.
Since 2025, we have carried this story forward as molitor produkte GmbH — with a commitment to refining proven solutions while continuously introducing new ideas.
Our USO handsets support projects worldwide — from Scandinavia to the Middle East, from Australia to Central Europe. In small exhibition spaces as well as major cultural institutions, they provide visitors with direct, personal access to information and history.
We are especially proud that the USO has been in continuous use for 15 years. It represents what defines us as a company: functional engineering, clear design, and products built to last. Many of our earliest devices are still in operation today — which, to us, is true sustainability.
And we continue to develop. With the same care and attention that marked the beginning — in our workshop and in close collaboration with our clients.
For us, 15 years of USO is not a conclusion, but an incentive: for the next projects, the next ideas, and the next decades of reliable media technology.
