molitor produkte Vision Mission

We create inspiring spaces that bring knowledge to life, invite visitors to spend time with information, and encourage reflection – multi-sensory places for vivid interactions.

With our passion for innovation, we develop, build and market media and museum technology products that combine the highest levels of quality and functionality.

Our mission is to design high-quality spaces that are aesthetically pleasing, leave a lasting impression, and create special experiences. To achieve this, we employ creativity and modern technology to develop products that tell stories in various ways. We combine haptic, visual and auditory elements for a fully immersive experience. Our customers include museums, galleries and other exhibition spaces, as well as libraries and other high-quality recreational “third spaces”. Our products are also perfect for all indoor and outdoor areas where interactions take place.

molitor products can be integrated into a range of compositions and provide reliable support for spaces that appeal to the senses and enable multi-sensory learning experiences.

We are continuously working on sustainable and inclusive solutions. At our location in Berlin, we foster local and trusting partnerships with small and medium-sized companies in the region in order to act as sustainably as possible and to strengthen our local business location.

We are continuously expanding our worldwide distribution network and seeking to collaborate with companies that share our vision of creating good and inspiring places with products that are ecologically sound and well developed.  We have a strong, international team that works in an interdisciplinary manner. Together, we develop ideas and pursue our goals in close dialogue with our customers.

Our story

molitor produkte was founded in 2025 as an independent spin-off of molitor, which was founded in 2001 by Martin Müller and Michael Zeyfang († 2022).

With the aim to realise exhibitions and art projects. Both partners also acted as managing directors.

In 2007, architect Marco Unterhaslberger joined the company as the third managing partner. With him, the company’s range of services expanded to include design.

In 2010, molitor began to develop its own products for exhibitions – solutions that had previously been missing from the market. The initial result was the USO handset, which was marketed by the company the following year as a series product. Since then, the company’s product range has been continuously expanding and molitor handsets are now a classic addition to media stations around the world.

In 2024, Marco Unterhaslberger left the company; Liz Müller joined as a partner in February 2024, following a successful ten-year career in sales.

In 2025, molitor divided into two companies: the newly founded molitor produkte GmbH emerged as a separate entity to molitor GmbH under the management of Liz Müller. The two companies moved together from the Berlin district of Kreuzberg to Prenzlauer Berg, where they now occupy a light-flooded floor at Storkower Str. 115 that is shared with the cross-media cooking platform Kitchen Stories.

The new location offers the perfect space for creative work and dialogue. molitor embraces a work culture based on diversity, flexibility, solidarity and cultural variety – because great ideas come from working together.

Sustainable products

Sustainability is very important to us and a central part of our business practices. As a medium-sized company, we systematically analyse and optimise our working structures and production processes so as to continually reduce our impact on the environment. To date, we have implemented the following measures:

IMG_2143

Long-Lasting & Easy to Repair

We develop products that are particularly durable thanks to their robust, low-wear design. Even in cases of vandalism damage, most repairs can be carried out in our own workshop. Thanks to the long-term availability of spare parts, our products can be used for many years—conserving resources and reducing unnecessary replacements.

Regional Value Creation & Fair Supply Chains

By manufacturing our one-hand receivers in our own in-house workshop, we minimize our ecological footprint. With 85 percent of our semi-finished components sourced from Berlin and Brandenburg, we deliberately focus on regional value creation.

Cooperation with local companies not only shortens transport routes but also strengthens the regional economy. The close proximity also enables particularly close collaboration and ensures the highest quality standards. Our production chains are almost fully traceable. We carefully select our suppliers and maintain long-term partnerships.

Resource Efficiency & Environmental Responsibility

By manufacturing our one-hand receivers in our in-house workshop, we minimize our ecological footprint. In our production processes, we focus on maximizing material utilization and optimizing procedures to significantly reduce waste and offcuts. The potential use of recycled plastics is continuously evaluated. Materials and energy are used as efficiently as possible, and our production methods are constantly refined. It is important to us to make the most of materials and to produce products in a way that generates minimal waste or offcuts. When selecting materials, we pay attention to certifications that ensure environmental friendliness and safety. We participate in the WEEE and RoHS processes, and our products carry the CE mark.

We use extraction systems and filters to minimize pollutants during the assembly process. Sustainability is also a priority in our packaging solutions: environmentally friendly cardboard, stamped product labeling instead of foil printing, and the reuse of filling materials all help reduce material consumption.

Our site is optimally connected to public transport, so less than five percent of our employees use cars. At the same time, we focus on digitizing our processes to conserve resources and further reduce our ecological footprint. We also continuously invest in research on innovative and alternative solutions to make our products and operations even more sustainable.

Handset VIA

Our VIA handset is an expression of our commitment to sustainability. During its development, we placed great emphasis on durable materials. The housing of the VIA is made of polyamide, a robust thermoplastic material that is injection molded. Thanks to its thermoplastic properties, polyamide is fully recyclable. It can be processed into new granulate, heated and used to manufacture new products. In addition, the flexible tube of the handset is made of stainless steel. This extremely hard-wearing metal is also recyclable and offers maximum durability.

We believe in innovation that serves people and the environment alike – today and for generations to come. We are therefore always looking for ways to improve and make an even greater contribution to environmental protection and sustainability.

Inclusive products

molitor is committed to inclusion and accessibility – ensuring that everyone can enjoy unrestricted access to content in exhibitions, museums and public spaces.

Our solutions are based on multi-sensory approaches that take into account different learning and cognitive needs. For us, inclusion means preparing information so that it can be experienced via sight, sound and touch.

Our products for more inclusive participation:

  • MIO headphones (single earcup): Allows people with visual impairments to listen to exhibition content without losing contact with their surroundings..
  • Induction handset: Transmits audio signals directly to hearing aids (T-coil) for clear playback without background noise.

We develop audio stations and tactile stations that allow people with visual impairments to explore exhibition content intuitively and independently. With our acoustic solutions, we want to offer an extension to purely visual experiences.

Our stations combine handsets and headphones with haptic elements so that information can be accessed via multiple senses. This creates a barrier-free experience that actively implements inclusion – for more participation and an unrestricted exhibition experience.
