Losonnante means “sounding bones” and allows you to experience sound through your own structure-borne sound. While sound waves are transmitted through the air in conventional hearing, structure-borne sound propagates through solid bodies. In this case, the sound is transmitted through your own bones – from your elbows and arms to your hands and ears.
Hearing via bone conduction also offers acoustic advantages. The application is particularly discreet for the environment, as the sounds are barely audible to others. In noisy environments, disturbing external noises can be shielded by placing the hands on the ears.
The device consists of an audio terminal with an integrated player. The supplied app can be used to make configurations and easily upload your own audio files. To start the audio track, the elbows are placed on the textured surface. The sound changes depending on the position of the hands on the ears, so that each person can find the perfect listening position for themselves. Losonnante can be integrated into existing pieces of furniture or custom-made objects and enables flexible use, both sitting and standing.
The Losonnante bone conduction is robust, hard-wearing and low-maintenance. The audio terminal is made of Corian, a material known for its hygiene, impact resistance and durability. Tables with wooden surfaces are available for indoor use, giving the device an elegant feel. Metal surfaces are available for outdoor use. All appliances are suitable for outdoor use and comply with protection class IP65.
Losonnante is available in 3 different versions. Classic, Nomad and Video. All devices comply with protection class IP65. Classic and Nomad are suitable for outdoor use. Video is for indoor use only and requires mains power. The Video version can also display video via HDMI and a connected screen. Nomad can be operated with a rechargeable battery.
The structure-borne sound transmission enables unhindered access to culture and knowledge for all target groups – including children, families, people with limited mobility and the visually and hearing impaired. In addition, active hearing via bone conduction can promote attention, memory and concentration and effectively support learning through play.
